Am about to start a new bolero style dress, and had an idea.
Would it look strange to actually make it 2 separate pieces, with an actual jacket? Would appreciate your thoughts!

No, I don't think it would look strange, and if you make the dress sleeveless it could be very comfortable for the dancer (hot weather, inbetween rounds etc). I would just try to think of a way to make the bolero attach snugly to the underdress. (NT)^_^Friday, October 12, 03:56:15am

I think it is a great idea, and ditto that it needs to attach snugly. (NT).Friday, October 12, 03:13:38pm

Our teacher has a dress like this. It's a sleeveless dress with a velvet jacket. Funny how styles change. Hers is about 10 years old. (NT)No nameSaturday, October 13, 06:45:19pm

That sounds good for dance-outs, too. Looks more like a show costume without the bolero. (NT)great idea, OP!Monday, October 15, 11:40:27am
