Subject: My daughter's TC wants me to add a lot more swarovski stones to my daughter's dress before the O because she doesn't think it sparkles enough on stage. I was just on Dreamtime creations and I see they have two different types of swarovski hotfix stones. Could someone please tell me the difference between 2028 and 2038 other than the price?

The cut. I believe 2028 is the older version. It has a larger "table" - the flat facet on top. The new cut with the smaller "table" is supposed to be more brilliant. Send them an email for confirmation, though. (NT)a dmSaturday, October 13, 08:45:18pm

The 2028 is the older cut, the higher number (I thought it was 2058, but that's irrelevant I guess) is newer and has even more sparkle. (NT)Love the new cut!Sunday, October 14, 06:23:26am

Are you sure you want the hotfix? You need to have a tool to glue them on the garment. (NT)JSunday, October 14, 09:16:25am

If you're going to use hotfix, I wouldn't use any stone larger than a 20ss. I find that the hotfix in sizes 30+ tend to fall off. They are heavier stones, but the hotfix glue isn't strong to hold them. (NT)My experienceSunday, October 14, 11:55:17pm

Also, beware if you have the hotfix hot tool... it can burn and destroy embroidery! (NT)--Monday, October 15, 02:48:10pm

Oh my goodness!! Never been on this forum before but WHAT A DIFFERENT ATMOSPHERE there is from the regular UK dance forum. You are all so helpful and polite! I have a problem with obtaining replacement stones for my daughter's new dress. BNDM not interested/able to tell me where to get stones (AB stones w/ narrow table - my hot fix stones too wide/flat on top so look different. HELP PLEASE!! (NT)DMThursday, November 01, 07:18:47pm

I recenlty got non-hotfix crystals from Scatter Crystals. The 2028 is the older flatter style and the 2058 is the newer narrower top. I received the 2058s. Think the 2028s have been discontinued so won't be for sale once stocks run out. (NT)RFriday, November 30, 05:48:24pm
