Subject: That's because before they used them, they knew they were multiple use patterns. The owners of the original dresses in this new case all bought their dress as a custom design not a multiple use design. I'm sure this dressmaker hasn;t been calling the BNDM up asking permission to copy their designs, nor did she ask the owners of the original dresses if she could make a copy.

In reply to: .. 's message, "It's kind of interesting, because when Gavin's new 3 panels came out there was discussion of the Seven Gates designs, but weren't all those just the same designs done by different dressmakers? I know they paid to use them, but for the dancers and the moms lots of dresses had the same design and no one had a problem with it." on Thursday, November 01, 10:36:41pm

I agree about this particular dressmaker, I was going off on a tangent. I guess my point is regarding similar designs made by the same dressmaker. I don't know that people buy dresses as "custom, one-off" designs. I know Gavin doesn't make any such promises. I think customers just "assume" they are one-off, but there is no contract or any communication by the dressmaker agreeing to that. (NT)Just an observation.Friday, November 02, 08:43:01am
