In reply to: Donna 's message, "Thank you so much for the comprehensive reply. I was planning to use a royal blue twinkle satin, but now may have a change of plans (as you do). I thought interfacing would be a problem, so two layers is a great idea." on Tuesday, November 20, 01:19:29pm

I hadn't planned on bag lining the dress. Was a good thing I did. Made interfacing the neckline so much easier. I know some DM's use one layer of the twinkle and back with a satin in a similar color. I just liked the rich color we got with the two layers. I had used a 100% cotton for the base-wouldn't do that again, I'd use a poly cotton blend. You do need to think about where you want to interface ( I just did the neckline) as it could show through depending on how many layers you use in the front bodice. Folding over the strips to make the skirt tiers made for now hemming/finishing off. Just serged, pleated and slapped them on the skirt base. Good luck with your dress!
