Just a little local nostalgia tidbit to add something new to the Forum...

The former RCA, Radio Corporation of America, operated an electronics testing facility on Evesboro-Medford Road between N. Elmwood Road and Sharp Road in Evesham.

In 1954, RCA opened a large complex on Route 38 in Cherry Hill(across from the present Cherry Hill Mall) which housed it's RCA Victor Home Instruments and Service Division. Home electronics, such as television sets, were designed and tested here. Part of the testing process was conducted at the Evesham testing site, which contained over a million dollars worth of equipment. The tests here were mainly to detect how much electronic radiation would come from RCA Victor TV sets and how this would interfere with other devises in a houshold.

In 1961, RCA moved the RCA Victor division from Cherry Hill to Indianapolis. The Cherry Hill site then became a Data Processing Center (and later RCA Government Services until it was demolished for the Hillview Shopping Center). The Evesham site was then converted into a radar testing site, used by RCA's Missile and Surface Radar Plant in Moorestown.
