Hi Mark. My son, who is severely and multiply handicapped, was diagnosed with latex allergy 14 years ago and I've been networking about it ever since. It is overwhelming in the beginning, especially when you see the latex product lists in circulation - they give you the impression that latex is in practically everything! While such lists can be useful, I've found them to contain a number of errors. Latex is in a lot of different products, but not nearly as many products as the lists lead you to believe. The term "latex" was not well understood years ago when the lists were first created, so there are some items on the list that should never have been included such as zippered plastic storage bags, newsprint, ads, coupons, lottery scratch tickets, chewing gum, etc. Also, many products that did contain it - in particular, medical devices - are now made with alternative materials.
