Hi Lori. Despite the common misconception, there is no hevea latex in chewing gum. It was latex from the sapodilla tree ("chicle") that provided the base for chewing gum in the past. Today most chewing gum is made from a synthetic gum base. The only chewing gum still made from natural latex that I'm familiar with is Glee Gum, made from chicle. Chicle is not reported to cross-react with hevea latex. While I'm not aware of any chewing gum made with it, jelutong natural latex has been reported to cross-react with hevea latex.
