Subject: Latex mattress

Is there any evidence that you can develop a latex allergy from sleeping on a latex mattress? I have been sleeping on one now for about a year and for the last 9 months have the feeling of swelling in my throat and difficulty swallowing. No tests so far have revealed the cause. Has anyone ever known this type of reaction to latex? Thanks for any response.
