Subject: Carpet and latex reaction

My daughter has a latex allergy. My inlaws laid new carpet, we stayed away for two months before we visited but she had a reaction. It was mild but still a reaction.
Now our church is getting new carpet. What is a safe amount of time to avoid exposure? Any ideas?
