it is a very good rule for you to stay away from natural rubber latex balloons. (Mylar balloons - the shiny metallic ones are not natural rubber;you needn't worry about those.)
It has been noted/warned regarding poinsettia plants on this list and elsewhere and it also would be a good rule to stay away from them. Last week at Lowe's I encountered live poinsettia plants on stands next to shelves of Christmas lighting that I wanted....later in the day I had hives on my neck and arms, I'm sure from my close proximity to those plants. I avoid the Christmas Eve/Day services at my church due to the poinsettia plants.:-(
