I am a former health care worker. I quit working at the hospital due to reactions around latex. Since then, I have trouble going to hospitals and MD offices that use latex. One of my most frustrating experiences was when EMTs refused to remove latex gloves before transporting me to the ER. Fortunately, I was well enough to be taken to the ER by a friend. Everything stablized for a while until I went to my daughter's college dance program. I started getting all the symptoms, but was able to leave the building quickly. After I left the building, I realized that the gym floor was made of rubber.
