Who invented the curly hair - and worse again the wig? When were they introduced?

I love to watch Irish dancing - and go along to many a feis just because I enjoy watching the dancers - teams and solos. But why do the girls have to go through such tortue for a few seconds. Why cant they be allowed to be children? Why doesnt someone organise a feis with onme of the rules being natural hair only to see what sort of a response they get. Does anyone like the wigs? It has gone too far and no one is likely to go back the way again. But please someone make a stance.

  • The quick answer is that a lot depends on what level your dd is in, her age, and who is judging. Some judges don't care about hair, especially on beginners and very young dancers. To others -- longtime ID mom, 05:57:20 06/21/03 Sat
