Subject: I was late to reading, 16 & actually a guy gave me this book about high school love & all that kind of thing. I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed reading, it was the first time in my life I actually couldn't wait to find something else to read. Next it was Harold Robins!! WOW Sex in books, who knew.. LOL After reading everything by him I talked to someone at a book store about what I might like & she gave me a historical. That was it for me until we started RBL & even then some of the girls here brought me kicking & screaming into Contemporary then paranormal & erocita! Now if certain people recommend a book to me I'll read it & 99 out of 100 times I LOVE it.. So RBL has not only brought me a world of new friends but a new world of reading also. So even though we're not as active as we once were, I hope we will continue to gather here & share our opinions & reads..

[> I remember coming home from the first day of kindergarten (looonnngg before Sesame St.!) crying my eyes out. Mom, alarmed, asked if the teacher was mean. My reply? "They didn't teach me to READ yet!!!!" We had to be able to write our name in cursive before we could get our own library card (I used Mom's, but wanted my own) - and with a Y in my name it took forever before we got my whole name in script. I don't remember the first book I read... But I read every dog, horse, and cat book I could lay hands on; I think the first romances were Barbara Cartlands; quickly moved to Rosemary Rogers, Patricia Matthews, Bertrice Small, and Sergeanne Golon. I loved Asimov, Norton, Heinlein, and Lewis, too, first, though... -- Merry, Friday, November 25, 09:29:17pm

[> [> God Merry, I read everything by Rosemary Rogers, Patricia Matthews, Bertrice Small, and Sergeanne Golon. I've hardly ever met anyone who read the Golon books, but when I got rid of my print books those are the only ones I kept.*G* The only thing about those books was the timeline drove me nuts, did you notice that or am I just too anal? [> [> [> Naw, the timeline drove me nuts, too. Also, I began to seriously wonder how Angelique could even stand up - her heels got so round! I swear, in the later books, it seemed as if she bedded a different guy every chapter! *BEG* -- Merry, Saturday, November 26, 12:29:19am
