[> I tore through my Liz C & Madeline H books on my TBR & man, these are just two of my fave all-time historical authors. I forget just how awesome both of them... (more inside) -- Joey Joey, Wednesday, July 23, 10:43:57am

Anyway, I had gotten away from reading historical for a while and/or the ones I was reading were lighter or less substantial. I had let quite a few of both Madeline Hunter and Liz Carlyle's books build up on my shelf. A few months ago (maybe six?) I decided to read one, then I switched to the other, then I just kept going back and forth.

It was refreshing and invigorating to read authors who not only write amazing stories, but also just write WELL. Their prose, their dialogue, their characters, everything in their books are just so rich and full. Even though they have such different styles and voices, they remind me of each other simply because of how well they both write.

Anyway, enough gushing. But for those of you who haven't picked up a Madeline Hunter or a Liz Carlyle book yet, what are you waiting for?? *grin*
