Subject: Hi Everyone, long time no see.

Well, it's been a while since I've posted, but I look in every now and again. This year has been a bit of an Annus Horribilus like the Queen had a few years ago. Lots of little crappy things happening and taking up most of my time. Aging parents with many health issues and a busy business and family means that I feel pulled in so many directions.

I've missed many birthdays ... so Happy Birthday to everyone and may you have received a gorgeous naughty piccie to celebrate.

I've still managed to fit in a fair bit of reading and must admit that I have been logging them on Goodreads so I can remember just what I have read and tag ones I want to keep an eye out for. It's a great resource for this as it's free (I love me a good FREE). Still love my paranormals and urban fantasy books, but throw in a touch of historical when I see one from a favourite author.

You know what I never see much of anymore .. medievals. I miss them a bit. I went back and did a reread of some Julie Garwood favourites.

Anyhow, just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope next year is blissfully happy and full of good cheer for each and everyone of you.

[> Hey Lady! Sorry to hear that you've been having a rough go of it. I hope 2012 is lots better for you! I've looked at Good reads but I just log my stuff on a plain old Excel spreadsheet and that seems to work for me. There ARE medievasls out there but you just have to look for them. They are my fave time period! Take care and thanks for stopping by. -- Robin, Sunday, December 11, 05:04:37am

[> I remember signing up for Goodreads, but I haven't kept it up. I use an excel spreadsheet so I can keep up with my list on my ipod. Wonderful to see you! Happy Holidays to you and yours. -- Beaty, Sunday, December 11, 10:12:08am

[> Chez, Great to see you. I know what you mean about busy with family health issues, I'm still lucky to have my parents & their over all health is OK but some of their issues take me to help & trying to keep their appointments, my DH & my own is quite a feat.*G* But I'll take that any day!! Good to see you pop out of lurk mode. I also miss some of the mid-evils, seems like the publishers think we can only like one period or genre at a time. [> Hey Chez - Great to see you posting. I'm sorry to hear you've had a tough go lately - hopefully 2012 will bring happy days. I agree about missing medievals - I re-read Garwood's too, and Jo Beverley's, Denise Domning's, Jane Feather's (my faves), Madeline Hunter's (also faves), Anita Mills' (great series), and Elizabeth Lowell's. Now that you've got me remembering these terrific series, I'm going to have to get out some re-reads! -- Judy, Wednesday, December 14, 08:43:12pm
