Author: Merry
Subject: No e-reader for me, although I do have an iPad now, courtesy of the kids. But, as long as I am a bookseller, I'm not going electronic... it feels as if it would be a betrayal of my "kind", if you know what I mean. If a favorite author moves to e-format only, then s/he loses me as a reader. And, to tell the honest truth, I like books. Big books, little books, thin books, thick books, illustrated books - you name it, I have it. The batteries in my books don't die or need recharging, and if I leave my book behind somewhere, it's a small loss, not a disaster. My name is Merry, and I am a bookaholic.
In reply to: AnnAnn 's message, "So...Let's talk about E Books. It's time. We've never really had a big discussion about them on the board, but I think the time has come. *lol*" on Tuesday, April 10, 07:01:46pm

[> [> I also love my books and am not ready to give them up. The keepers sit on my shelves and when they catch my attention I'm instantly transported into my favorite bit of the plot. And how could I give up bookstores? The net is a great way to find books, but it's not the same as being able to hold a book and flick through. BUT I have made a concession, which I will post below... -- Beth, Tuesday, April 17, 12:19:11am

[> [> LOL. My kindle does not leave my side. If I lost it I would be very upset, but I do have a backup of all my ebooks on my laptop just in case. If I leave one of my books somewhere I don't have a second copy and it IS a disaster. -- Louisa, Saturday, April 21, 08:20:47am
