anyone like this saxophonist? I just heard his recording of Left Alone.....it is a really superb saxophone art....among my big chunk of saxophone CDs...this song is one of the few very best I ve ever heard...

try it...I got it on a CD
called the Art of Jazz Saxophone: the Masters

he's very coltrane I think. Maybe because he played with coltrane a lot in the 70s, check out pharoah sanders too

i enjoyed his gig in a small pub in UK about 5 years ago, good, very happy to see his name in this forum.

it's so boring here because many players asked some question about teachers repeatly. ha ha

wow........I just got his CD called Left Alone Revisited

I mean all the songs are what I am looking for.....lol........so damn good........it rocks!!!!

but the song mentioned..Left Alone is played using Tenor.....his soprano bersion is really good...

recommend that CD to u two...really superb....

YES....one of my other favourite CD is Go! from Blue Note.
of course by Dexter. and in similar sense...my favourite in that one is .."I guess I have to hang my tears out to dry" <----sorry I forgot the exact name....

btw I am also in UK.....which pub u met Archie Shepp I am near London, actually in Kent...anywhere good to go to for such events??

if u near Kent I invie u to come and try my current selections...I mean saxophones....

I can't remember the place exactly,
My friend was studying fashion design in Manchestor five years ago, and he brought me to the pub.

I live in Hong Kong and not in UK. But it's so nice to talk with you at here.

That is one of my favourite disc of Archie.

oh..that CD looks really profession...but must be hard to get it...

however, I dun really like or understand Coltrane....cant appreciate his work....I know many of you like Coltrane...
