Subject: Keilwerth Saxophones

I have a Keilwerth Ex 90 series II tenor i got it a a pretty good price from a friend of mine in a music shop, i don't have much experience with these. I've had it for about two years and i was wondering if anybody has one and how the hold up with the test of time.

Hi Chris,

Since you have had it for two years it must have held up the test of time, that is, at least two years, right?

Ah, but you know how 10 to 20 years saxes are like..............you see them with the old pros at the gigs.

They lost all thier lustre. They need overhauls and they have small problems here and there.............just like your 10 to 20 years car. Every part has some problems.

Chris

Keilwerth is a german company, they have a very good reputation for their horns (we can say that to almost all things german made). The EX 90 that you own is their intermediate horn it is one hell of a sturdy horn. Depends on how you care for it, it can last forever. However, Saxophone is a very complicated instrument and like all things complicated it needs regular tune up. That is true for all saxophone no matter what the made.
