Subject: Saxophone Master Class presented by Charles Huntley, Canada

Dear all,

The Canadian Tenor sax player, as well as a great mentor of mine, is holding a master class in saxophone performance this following Sunday (7/3) from 2pm to 4pm at Professional Music Service. The two hour class is going to be divided into two parts where the first hour will be devoted to Embouchure, Breathing and other various basics that would help improving your control and your tone. The second hour would be in jazz improvisation/theory, which would include solo analysis of jazz greats from Coltrane, Cannonbal to comtempory players such as Sanborn and Kirk Whalum.

There is no basic 'pre-requisite' to this 2 hour class, besides a minimal knowledge in the minor and major scales, WE WILL START FROM STRATCH.

Price is $600
Space is limited and since Mr. Huntley would want to keep the size of the class no larger than 5 students per session. Therefore the amount of classes offered is going to depend on the response to this ad. There are 2 more spaces left for the 7/3 class and if 2 or more people are interested in coming, I will schedule another identical session the following week. Spaces are offered in first come first service basis.

Mr. Huntley informed me this morning that he is returning Canada this coming Tuesday. So this master class is only going to be offered ONCE, which is this Sunday at 2pm. For those of you who feel that you might have difficulty understanding the teaching material due to language differences, I personally will be there to translate AT THE SPOT and I MIGHT translate the teaching notes to Chinese if time permits. For those of you who registered with me I will give you a phone call to reconfirm a day or two before the class.

HK really doesn't have (or just occusionally once or twice) such kind of master class. I am really appreciated Mr. Huntley offering the class.

Acutally, just a demand and supply issue, if you think that is reasonable, go for it. Or else, just ignore. No need to criticise right?!

唔使咁激，藝術o既野同藝術家，都唔可以用常人常理來衡量。

我尋晚睇電視港台節目見有個香港人吹 Jazz alto 即興，唔失禮架.................

Mr. Brecker, I usually would ignore this kind of offensive messages online, but I geel obligated to give everyone who had read your message a better conception on the background of this class and especially PMS's involvement in this.

As a long time friend with the PMS staff's, they are kind enough to let us rent a room for the purpose of this class for two hours WITHOUT CHARGING ANYTHING MORE on top of the usual fee they charge for the room per hour.

I do apologize for my lack flexibility in typing chinese in forum, but I actually stated in capital letters that 'WE WILL START FROM STRETCH' and specifically stated that all you need to know it's the 12 basic keys. Again my apology. You must have so much more better things to do to omit this part of the message.

Tim Price is a remarkable player in Philly, and I suppose if he ever holds a master class it won't charge as much as six hundred dollars. However, with all due respect if you can ease up a little and rethink about the issue you would realize that you are actually in Hong Kong instead of new york city. Six hundred dollars is actually the one to one tuition fee charged by the recording musicians in Hong Kong, as oppose to USD30-USD40 usually charged by pro musicians in the US.

So if you feel that you are that furious about reading the above ad and strongly oppose the idea of this class, you can reach me directly at my cell phone to talk about directly and I can explain the nature and the material which will be presented in the class in whatever language you might want/capable of understanding.

But by all means, if you are making a serious statement, show yourself, but don't hide behind a sax giants name and publising your idiotic comments over the internet.
