What you have described is perfectly normal for cochins, large or bantam. They mature slowly in all areas of development, from laying to feathering. As far as your mystery cockerel, he should be crowing by now. That is something the cochins tend to do on schedule. Even 6 week old youngsters will attempt a crow, although a weak one! I bet it is a female with a larger comb. If you bought your birds from a hatchery, some of the females may have combs that are a little larger than the standard calls for. I have seen 4H kids with hatchery shotck like this. The males have saddle feathers that hang long and are narrow and the females don't. See if you notice a difference there. Otherwise...patience is the best policy. Enjoy!
