Thank you ALL for your replies I feel SO much better! I have never purchased and had shipped a bird before, I think he was a show bird already and probably retired.
I was a little disapointed in the condition of him when recieved from the seller, as I am pretty sure they are a well known breeder. But part of me doesnt want to through them under the bus, this is all stuff that I can clean up, and they probably had a bunch of other birds on there plate that they were caring for a bit more.
I do agree that the redness was probably from mites, while I did not see any crawling on him, after his bath while I was towel drying him I could see tiny bugs crawling on his feather shafts, so back into the tub he went for another bath, I soaked him in cat, flea, tick, and lice shampoo, dried him up good and then soaked him in DE then gave him Ivermec.
For the spur, I used a potato, no bleeding at all it was nice, I took a spur off a late roo and he bled good!

Thanks again for your fast responces!! The boy had a far travel all the way from the other side of the US!
