I have used the baked potatoe method many times, and I have to say it works pretty well. But as mentioned by Bill, when I done this, there was nothing to file down, only a very small, very sharp, spur. The baked potatoe helped a little with the bleeding I think, I havent had a problem with this method but have never had anything left to file down after the spur was twisted off.
