Shari, a few years ago there was an article in the ABA yearbook similar to what you are looking for. Not sure what year it was but perhaps another CI member can tell you what year it was. I have also seen exhibitors talking to judges while they are judging. It seems to me this would be extremely distracting to the judge in addition to appearing to try to influence the judge even if they were just talking about the weather. When I am clerking I don't even talk to the judge (except telling him number of entries, etc.)unless they talk to me first.
