Yes, I'm an ABA Judge and I try to work with a bird that is difficult but I've seen lots of judges who will write MEAN BIRD and go right passed them. I judge a lot of Old English and the are known in a lot of cases to be aggressive, If I can get a clear view of there type I do try to use them. In Cochin's it's the same. I have raised Cochin's for many years and I a line if white that both male and female were very aggressive. Some males would come down to a point but in the spring they would start up again. If he is your only male go ahead and raise from him and see how the young males are affective. Maybe you can get a comer male for the next breeding season. But if the turn out like him you may want to look at getting another male this fall. Even though I try to say away from an over aggressive male I will use one if he's really good. Fighting back with him may cower him down for a while but watch he'll get you when your least expecting it. Lots of luck and let me know if the sprayer works.
