There was a good thread on here about 9 months ago about the large browns and how they are no longer around. We discussed how to remake them since no records were kept as to the original breedings.
Some said Mr. Duffy used black x white matings to produce the browns and others have suggested black x partridge. The black male to white female will produce brown reds but I have not gotten any browns yet. I do not have any partridge to breed to my blacks but would think this may be the way to go. There are some good partridge out there and many breeders of very good blacks so if this cross did produce the browns they should come with very good type which is where you always want to start.
