I personally make it a point not to list the names of the breeders that my parent birds come from directly in adds out of respect for the breeders but I do give the information out freely if inquires are made privately.
I do raise Cochins but for example I’ve spent thousands of dollars developing my Silkie Breeders birds over the last few years. When I go and list some of the older breeders that are not needed in my program anymore I have a hard time getting even half of the money out of the birds that I put into them. Especially since I’m a nobody that no one has ever heard of. It won’t matter how nice the birds look in the pictures with out the background breeding no one wants to mess with them.
On the other hand when someone buys a Cock bird from you and puts it in with their barnyard mix and then lists the mix breed muts as direct decedents of you birds I can see how it can be extremely frustrating and yes, you’re right in that some people are doing it directly to make money.
