Subject: Is my cochin chick a girl or a boy?

I have a standard cochin chick who was sold to me as a splash pullet. He said she was almost 5 weeks old when I got her, making her about 9 weeks old now. Personally, I think she is younger than that because I also got a Wyandotte and Orpington at the same time and they are much larger than her. And she is turning out to be blue, not splash, but that is fine.

Any tips on how to verify her sex? She has very, very little comb with no coloring in it. She came with fully feathered wings and legs, but the rest of her was down. Now she is getting feathers on her neck and head and her back. I wish I could post a pic.

Thanks for any help. I really hope she is a she, otherwise we will have to give her away and my daughter will be heartbroken.
