I have to admit I was against the release of the Port Authority transcripts but than I read the article below and I cried along with Stella.

(How typical of a Resite (a grad of Resurrection H.S.) to ask if it's okay to break a window.)

Us Texans went back 3 weeks ago! I'm like Chris. I look forward to the new school year - new hopes, dreams, laughter - there's a definite sense of renewal for the staff AND the children. I mourn the loss of summer and the freedom it brings but appreciate it because it energizes me so I can return to learn new things with my students.

When I was a Midwesterner, I looked forward to the Labor Day Weekend because it signaled cooler temperatures and the leaves changing to beautiful colors. Now that I live here - it signals outdoor BBQ’s and tubing.

Hope everyone has a safe labor free weekend.

Since summer lasts here until the end of October - and comes back in March - every school has air conditioning! :-)

Oh, here there is almost no AC in schools not even in the suburbs. Last week private and suburban schools started and we had some really hot days. CPS start Tuesday.

My niece started second grade but it was her First Day in an actual school. She was home schooled for first grade. So far, so good. :-)
