hanibal's initial goal when starting var[title] was to create an index for über. That I was writing some stuff to create a fiction page on the site, too, was really more of an aside. We basically wanted to promote Über.

That was last autumn, and there was only a small list of Über Authors - mainly JCayan and JSwrdsmth, and some unfinished tidbits that unfortunately seemt o stay unfinished. Now look what has happened within not even a year! J/7 Über is booming!! (writing this solely as a happy reader, not as a writer)

Now that hanibal has nearly survived her exam summer, we are plotting out new treats and options to set up on var[title] - only last week we were discussing how and whether to set up intros or short summaries to all the Über stories, or perhaps even reviews.

The literature academic within me has had itching fingers for months to sort through all the wonderful Übers... but then, as I wrote J/7 Über myself, I of course can't comment in any way.

But if there is interest in a more extensive introduction to the various Über stories, I would like to correct readers opinions over at var[title] - like if you want to say something about any Über story, give an intro, or summary, mail the comment to us, and we'll set it up under your name.
This might provide us with different aspects or views on single stories, and could help to attract and inform new readers.

Hmm... what do you think, Ladies?
...Haney?? (I just found this and simply HAD to reply... sorry for not checking in with you first... what do you think??)

Meanwhile, our old plea reamins - if you come acros anything J/7 Über in the infinite widhts of the internet that is not yet listed on our site, please be so kind to inform us so that we may add it.

collect readers opinions, of course, and not correct...

I'm sorry. Must be all these bosy university professors running wild in my head...
Still haven't had any breakfast or coffee yet, and it's again nearing 35°C outside... Germans are simply not used to this heat...

Dutch people are not used to it either!

Great idea both Rose and Anik.
I can try to write some reviews if I have the time.
There must be Uber we are unaware of !

But sometimes in between chapters I dream of a short silly piece about J/7, like the latest Tenderwere!

And Trace Cook has some very good Uber too.

I don't think Trace Cook has written any J/7 uber yet, just J/T uber so far.

There are a growing number of uber(~0nyx and Mika) and semi-uber(Susan) stories at the Alcove. var[title] has a link to this site, but it's not listed in the uber section yet.

thought of a couple more.

there's Boadicea's semi-uber V-E Day:
http://appelsini.tripod.com/B2.html

and Campbell's AU fic Living Witness:
http://members.tripod.com/~Paradox761/Living_Witness.htm
(make sure you read the author's disclaimer first; this story is not for everyone)

thanks... I had never heard of Boadicea's story!

As for 'The Terran'(Living Witness), we had a discussion a few months ago whether to link it or not and decided againat it since it is so extremely brutal and very different from the other things we do link; plus it's more AU than actually Über.

So.. if anyone has comments, reviews, summaries... mail them over and we'll revamp our Über Index thoroughly!!

(thank god the board is open again. I felt awfully homeless all weekend!)

GB just updated her site and there's new sequel to "The Girl From Raven's Island". Yeah!

Feel free to post such important news as this as a new thread - I almost missed it - and that's saying something. ;-)

This is a wonderful idea, and I would want to participate. Amazon.com (among others) includes reader's comments in their book/video/recording listings and I have found them to be very helpful in making my choices.
