Take all the time you need hon! Anytime the Alcove is updated is a time of celebration here on the board - that you've been regularly updating is also cause for amazement here too.

Please, never feel pressured to do something 'cause you think we/readers expect it though. We'll wait for you and all the writers on your board until...well would it tell you something if I told you that I still check for updates to a story that hasn't been added to since September, 1999? *g* Obviously, if it's a good story (or stories), we can wait. The Alcove is full of great stories and we'll wait!!!

Your real life challenges are much more important and you've got to go there now. We'll be here if you need to vent, or cry, or rejoice, or whatever! In the mean time please take care of YOURSELF too. You're important to many of us, way beyond the "writer" or the "webmistress."

And because you did mention the writer called ~Onyx. I just wanted to tell you how much it means to read a story written from the heart! They're the most meaningful, whether angsty or "peachy." *g* You write what you need to grrrl. I promise you'll have faithful readers.

As someone who enjoys the site itself and the fiction on it, I want to thank you for the site and the work that you put into it. It is a much appreciated work. I love it, and feel rather embarrassed that I haven't taken the time to send you your snaps. RL can be a kicker. But thank you for all you've put out there. It is much appreciated (now less silently so) on my end.

May things settle and may you find balance.

Hey ~Onyx, please don't worry about us as writers, or as readers. We've all had RL come crashing down on us from time to time, I'm certain, so a little understanding from us should not be so difficult.

As for your stories, angst is a part of life, and in reality, or at least in the show's reality, Janeway never got have Seven, so why shouldn't that aspect be explored as well. Besides, writing can be one of the most cathartic, most healing exercises in the world, and writing fiction even more so, since you can manipulate things as you want them. Go ahead and write. Whatever comes out is what comes out, and is what's meant to be. I know I, for one, will read whatever you put out there, darlin', whenever it gets there.

As I believe Musette said above, I, too, still check some stories from long ago in the off chance that the writer may have had some inspiration. Don't worry about us. We'll survive, ok? Just take care of your own stuff for now, and we'll be happy.

Much love!

this board and its attendees and attendant are fabulous and though postings will be infrequent I think that there will be a benefit for readers in that there will be quantity added to the updates, when they occur, perhaps. I, along with you guys, fully support the choice Onyx has made and am happy to return to her, the spirit of generosity she has so heavily dispensed to all of us as readers and writers.

Yes, yes... those weekly posts were a wonderful gift, but surely above and beyond the call of duty.

Our thoughts are with you ~Onyx.

Life can be a virtual pain,
Virtual life sometimes a strain,
But I hope it's not too cruel,
For Onyx a precious J/7 jewel,
A gem in the fanfic domain.

Not that I could add anyhting new to this, but I've heard somwhere that continued chanting will help --- *G*

Dear ~Onyx, may whatever bugs turr bug size itself by time so that you can carry it somewhere to bury itself outside in the garden, and if it's the nasty kind you could always feed it baking powder.
Seriously, your speed of updates has been INSANE (in the very best way, at least for your readers)and if anyone deserves a break, it is you.
Write, please, when you feel like it, and I think you know now that the folks here will wait for it, patiently even *G*, and meanwhile drink Chardonnay and pass you the bottle now and then, and ofer a virtual shoulder if you could need one.
Most of all, and before all website matters, may things and
balance work out for you. We can live without weekly Alcove updates. *Sniff* You can also live without chocolate. Or so I've heard. But - what we absolutely can't spare is you.

Alles Gute, Anik

I am sure you will find the time to find yourself a little again.
Don't let the time hook you. Sometimes waiting can be good too.
I am sure we will wait as long as you need.
For those who are not patient, well maybe they are hooked in their own time.
Be free and be happy.

We will all be delighted to see you again, well rested and inspired.
