that was Katherine Hepburn's goal and she chose acting to achieve it. How lucky for all of us.

I saw her in the early 1980s when she came to Chicago in a play called West Side Waltz. She was in her late 70s and to see her perform on stage was a real treat.

The local PBS station aired Adam's Rib last night. It's one of my favorite Hepburn movies, along with Holiday and Stage Door.

Everyone remembers Hepburn/Grant in Bringing Up Baby but Holiday was the better movie.

Stage Door - the boarding house for aspiring young actresses reminds me of this message board.

Alas, the calla lilies will never bloom quite the same.

"Stage Door" is one of my all-time faves, all those young contracted actresses getting together for a romp: Ginger Rogers, Lucille Ball, and the "unknown" Katharine Hepburn.

*smile* Yeah, I think I'll pull out my videos...
