Um, yes, speaking of how things look, how about an opinion on the format of the board. You like it the way it is, you would prefer the extended replies -see NE board www.voy.com/14100/ to see that format in use, or you don't care one way or the other. Just look at the other board, don't touch!

The desire to change has to be overwhelming since it will cause the board to increase in size and take longer to load. A potential problem for those with older and more limited computers. So everyone think about it or the sounds of silence will be manipulated by those in power. -)

Seriously, if it takes a long time to load and makes it difficult for everybody to enjoy the conversation due to older equipment, then let's just keep the status quo. Other boards that have the "all in one," tend to have shorter threads (not always, of course).

Do you think how we feel about this has anything to do with our opinions about serial J/7 stories versus standalones? *hee*

Board is fine as it is... I am still simply glad this board is open again...!!! never mind the finer techie things I would never grasp anyway...

Thanks for the URL example, I'd been wondering what everyone was talking about. I don't have an older computer but I do have a dial-up connection. The loading time wasn't much longer....and it was shorter than other-hosted boards similiarly configured to this one.

Don't know if that would change based on thread length, but you could always tell people to start new threads after every 10th post, or something. It was a bit more convenient to be able to view things all at once, but this format is okay too. Guess I don't feel that strongly either way. *g*
