Hey, groupie! Thanks for asking. It's so cool to be the subject of a thread, especially when it's a good one! :)

I have a job that required me to live-in for the first two months, and didn't have much time for sleeping, let alone writing. But, I'm happy to say that I'm now just on days, and I get to come home every night. Yay! *bhg* So, I'll have more time to do things like check in here every once in a while, and actually do some writing. I've got the frist few pages of chap 2 done, and have an outline for the rest of it. I'm aiming for next weekend, but don't hold me to that. But, I should have something for you in the next couple of weeks. Ok?

Oh, and thanks again for asking about me. It was so cool to check back in, do some catching up, and see someone actually concerned about me...or at least my story. ;)

Hope everyone is well and on the mend. We've had some bumps and bruises around here, and a little accident involving a knife, bare feet, and dropping (not me), but all in all, things are relatively safe (knock, knock).

is that why it is required that we wear shoes into restaurants...because they have knives?

beats me, but it sure is a good idea. My sweetie looked kinda funny with a knife sticking out of her foot. :)

trekbeez, its good to see you back I for one have missed your witty banter. Thanks for the update, I was concerned about you and not just for your story, cos around the time of your last post you had a really bad cold I think so I was glad to hear it was work and not your health keeping you away. I worked the night shift for 4 yrs, it can be hell can't it? it leaves you no time for anything creatative ;-)
Looking forward to chapter 2.

Take care AJG

Witty banter, eh? Now I'm nervous. Oh, the pressure! ;)

Yeah. The night thing is difficult. Right now I'm working as a nanny, taking care of 14 week old twins. I've been on the same schedule as the mom, getting up for night feedings and the whole nine yards. The only difference is that I don't have the advantage of the hormones and antibodies that breastfeeding mothers have. Consequently, I was constantly run down and unable to ward off the germs and viruses I was exposed to. In fact, I sit at home right now, nursing a cold and a muscle spasm in my back, instead of cleaning baby puke off my shoulder (which I don't really mind). Any other job I would have gone in today. But, since I'm dealing with newborns with not fully developed immune systems, I have to be more careful. That, and the mother is a new mom and freaks out whenever I get a sniffle. Oh, well.

But, after a brief nap in a few moments, I'm hoping to do some writing today. Yay! Sometimes I'm at my best creatively when I have a slight cold and am a bit left of center, mentally. It's kind of like those 3-D pictures. In order to see what's really there, you have to let things go out of focus slightly, then all of a sudden, a whole new world opens up to you. And I don't even have to do any drugs to get there. :) Ok, unless you count the heavy duty cold medicine...

(On a serious note: I don't do drugs. Never have. Don't condone recreational drug use. Why I feel the need for a disclaimer here, of all places, I don't know. But just in case someone is lurking who might get the wrong idea, I figured I'd do a little PSA.)

Amen to the disclaimer.

I can't help it. I work with kids, who I'd rather not see grow up to be crack heads. Know what I mean, Teach? :)
