Hi everyone...

Here in Philadelphia we've gotten hit with about six inches of snow and I'm digging out.

How's the weather where you are? How's life? Read any good fanfic lately?

Just wanted to say hi!

Hey Kats - and all you gals who hang around - weather in south Texas is fine - sunny but chilly - 51 right now with a wind chill of about 38....my kind of weather!

But alas, I'll be stuck inside much of the weekend. Had my exit competencies this morning and a huge final/portfolio assignment due Tuesday.

I would be upset but the thought of having only one more semester before I graduate with my masters is keeping me up, Up, UP! :-)

How's everyone else doing?

Enjoy the snow Kats - I miss it. I'd give anything for just one snowfall (around the holidays of course!) to shut San Antonio down! lol

Coming to the end, at last, of a BRUTAL semester. My schedule and students have been wretched this term, but the great joy of teaching is that the whole thing starts over every semester. Thank the goddess.

We're pining for snow up here in Santa Fe, NM. Our multi-year drought is starting to look permanent. So much so that my gf and I are talking about moving.

I did read a nice fic lately. (Besides "In Waning Light," of course, which was great.) It's on Pink Rabbit, called "Tempus Omnia Revelat." Long, but nice.

Mostly these days feeling the lack of gay or subtext-gay characters on TV. (Though Leslie Hope's character Lisa Cohen on "Line of Fire" is pretty damned hot...)

All of you Southwesterners are welcome to come up here to Boston and dig me out of the snow and take it back with you!!! I promise I won't stop you!

No snow in Chicago though it is damp and dreary today.

One of the storms that headed east gave us rain all day Thursday. Lake Michigan's water temp is around 43 and the winds blew out of the NE (blowing over the lake)which meant it didn't get cold enough here to turn to snow.

I've finished decorating for Christmas on the outside but I've already had lights out and yesterday our Frosty the Snowman blew his bulb and somehow blew out a strand of lights on the railing. *humbug* Oh, okay I fixed Frosty. No big deal, I just like saying humbug.

Oooohhh, AF, we were in Chicago last week! Brrrrr! I'm out in our office right now in beautiful Altadena, CA and I'm freezing in 65 degrees. Cold enough for me! It's supposed to rain here and we're hoping it will. Grass needs watering.

Got almost all our holiday shopping done today. Don't think we'll put up a tree this year since we have to drive up to Oregon for xmas. I think my darling wife is going to try to rig a peace sign to put on our roof. That'll be our decoration for this year...forget the tree hastle.

Happy holidays everyone!

UK weather today is sunny and cold, like a woman I once knew... *g*

Fanficwise, I haven't had a lot of time for reading, but I really enjoyed Nona Joyce's story "Two" over at the Alcove:

Also, I am working hard on a new fic too: called "Frozen In Time" which I hope will be finished soon!

a new story?

See, that gets even me out from behind my books for a minute (apart from the fact that the libraries are closed on Sundays)!
Icy and sunny over here, too, but no snow yet... library temperature in the 60s with a slight draught.
...and Casta - we seem to have been knowing the same woman. ;->

Wet and warm here. :)

Notes:
-Muddy flat tire on my bicycle coming in this morning
-Milk for my tea was spoiled

The way I figure it, it's best not to peak to early in the week. So this is a nice, easy-to-surpass way to start off, yes?

I love optimism.

Hope your week got better!

Well, Kats, skip this next paragraph if you want to keep the idea that optimism can alter what the fates have planned --

The rest of the week was not quite perfect
-a vandalized car
-a ticket for running a red light
-an additional ticket because the vandals had taken my proof-of-insurance card!! - damn lil fuckers.
(-wheee! look at me take advantage of the lack of moderation with naughty words! )
---don’t tell af.

But on the positive side:
Something I just read was Angelina Vansen's
"A Thousand Beautiful Things."

Very complex and deeply written Seven. I don't know if I've read anything quite like it. Really well done Seven in first person.
