Just spotted your cogent thoughts on Buffy season 8 from blue board and wanted to mention a thanks for the view you hold. I saw the whole thing going backwards to the "shock" re father that brought about her calling to slayer and Angel back to "rat boy" in a sense.

I have so little interest in season 9 as they regressed Buffy too far to even be believable to me.

AnF has some promise, I think! Very balanced "opposites" between bad ideas for good purposes, and even between Buffy's "free fall" versus Angel's driven purpose. (and now Faith's--which "solves" her suffering in divided loyalties to slayers and Angel.

A tough call to end "suffering" (point of twilight,season 8) and doing the "wrong thing" as something imposed or forced. However, ALL acts of birth, change, the curse that made Angel possible, the chip that made Spike have to go to Buffy to protect him FROM humans, even the "calling" to slayer were all forced or imposed.

Are you posting anywhere on the comics? As I said, I follow a couple of spoilers on Buffy, but can't get invested in the book somehow, but maybe YOU will change my mind. HA!
