Subject: I am scared!

We have spent all week prepping for our first ever garage sale. The neighborhood has 6 somes doing it tomorrow from 7-2pm. We're still not sure if it's going to be drizzling when we need to set up. It's going to be 45 degrees or so. I am frankly dreading the whole haggling thing, watching for thieves, etc. but will be happy to have purged so much stuff. I've been hearing tons of horror stories like people showing up the night before or the first buyer spending a buck with only a $20. *grumble* Also, I brought home Sookie from the vet yesterday after her surgeries. She has to wear the cone around her head which is just so sad. I have to give her 3 different meds. She still has to be seperated from my other girls for two weeks because she's got Giardia! She's a doll though so this fortune we're spending is worth it. All she wants to do is have you hold her over your shoulder or neck and purrrrrr.

Sunday I will colapse.

Have fun! Just relax and enjoy it - but do watch for "funny money" in addition to the light-fingered "just looking" types. Try to work with a partner - some criminal types are good at having one person distract you while the other steals your best stuff. I think they use garage sales as practice or something.

Garage sales are a great way to meet the neighbors! In fact, I think that next year for "Neighborhood Night Out" I might suggest that we turn that into a swap meet. It's light here then until way late on that night, and I'd rather do a swap meet than sit around and pretend to eat food cooked by people whose hygienic cooking habits I don't quite trust . . .

Garbo is the same as Sookie - just wants to love and be loved. Makes up for a lot in vet bills, doesn't it?

Glad you're feeling better.

They were only were a buck each though so I hope they enjoy they hell out of them! Thank you for your kind words. It's kind of crazy the things people are buying and the things we thought for sure woud sell that are sitting here. I just wish it were warmer out. I'm in right now taking a five minute warm up! *hugs*
