Subject: We close on our new, gently used, home 10/25! Joy and thanksgiving!

However, we have to replace all the carpet, repaint the kitchen and dining room and living room and maybe a couple of bathrooms and the odd bedroom. Makes be tired just thinking about it. So, dear peeps, once again you will get to share in my whining about all the work that must be completed by Thanksgiving! Four bedrooms of furniture, bedding, two bathrooms of towels and shower curtains and cutie thingies, kitchen (can you imagine buying all new dishes, cutlery, dish towels, groceries)? I have to go now; I feel a migraine coming on. Just kidding. HugsL

I can't imagine filling an entire house from scratch all at once - by Thanksgiving! You're a brave woman to want to get all that done by the holiday. I know it's over a month, but still! You're an inspiration, Salty. Congratulations on your new home. *hugs*

Not really close and no pine trees! However, the trip to Austin will be about 20 miles closer and we are only 61/2 miles from the little ones. In fact, our almost 10 year old will go to school next year within walking distance of our house and the kindergartner will be at least as close as her home. Our son and his wife and me and the roomy signed our contracts on the same day not even knowing we were going to be so close. So, we will still be able to see the kiddos a lot. We firmly believe in Divine Intervention.

My roomy is the driver and I'm the decider. Mostly. Sometimes he puts in his two cents worth. Right now he wants to buy the same sofa table we had in the burned house. It was ugly in that house and will be equally as ugly, if we get it, in our new home. We'll see.

Yes, I like the new house. It is, however, in a subdivision that only allows homes to be built on an acre or more. We have an acre. Our backyard is unfenced except on the sides and it looks like its the same size as New Jersey. But the interior is lovely except for the floors and walls and kitchen appliances.

It has a niche in the hall for some outstanding piece of furniture. So, Saturday, we all went to the clock museum and I purchased a French manufactured grandfather clock and a mantle clock for my roomy. They are his remaining birthdays and Christmas gifts.

And with that tidbit, I'll shut up. If I knew how to cut and paste on my new MacBook, I'd send this in an email. Don't, however, so here 'tis.

This will teach you, dear wretch, to ask me the time. I will bloody well build you a clock every time. *g*

OH, God. I gotta go lie down. Salty is doing that KILLER level of work and decision. We all can’t even lie down on a couch she doesn’t have. THAT is how dire the reality of it all.

No one to dragoon into service, I guess, because “right way” the first time kind of puts the hugest burden on you, SALTY, because of this dead line! YOU and CLOCKS! Hee hee. Heck! The floor and paper plates; bring the pot luck would be a good time with you, I would think.

Maybe all this paint would “turn the ugly” table into something you could live with? Or is it just “wrong?” WHY does he like it? Feet fit on it; hee or a sentiment/connection to something completely different?

Every blessing be yours and an otherworldly ease flow through these efforts, Salty

Be well

Best wishes and blessings on your new place. Wish my Home Depot was just around your corner. Would love to help you put the place to rights in no time. Your positive attitude in such a sudden/shocking turn of events is admirable.
