Subject: Buffy Season 9 (Spoiler Warning)

Anybody following Buffy season 9?It's two monthly books.Buffy and Angel & Faith.They'll run 25 issues each over two years.The fisrt five issues are out.Also two minseries have been confirmed later in the season.

Quick recap bulletpoints of season 9.

1)Angel was the masked big bad of season 8 called Twilight.Manipulated by Whistler and a sentient dimension in order to help Buffy but allowing his hubris to get the better of him and not ask what's really going on and realizing he's instigating a apocalypse.

2)Buffy and Angel had super powered space sex that gave birth to a new universe also called Twilight that was going to replace the old one.

3)Xander and Dawn are a couple.

4)Spike is the captain of a spaceship with a bug crew.

5)A Twilight possessed Angel snapped Giles neck like Jenny Calender killing him right in front of Buffy.

6)Buffy destroyed the source of all magic in the remains of Sunnydale ending the threat of Twilight.Magic has been banished,demons can't cross over to our plane anymore,no new slayers will be called and the future of Joss's Fray comic has been set.

Buffy Season 9 so far.

1)A new form of vampires have risen called zompires.Vampire demons can't crossover now to animate a body so it's more like radio controled from a distance creating these new feral vampires.

2)Angel is teamed with Faith in London with a role reversal.Faith now is the one trying to get Angel on his feet following his rock bottom hit as Twilight.

3)Angel is trying to resurrect Giles.

4)A new baddie Buffy is dealing with called Severin can suck the vampire demon out of vampires leaving human corpses.Severine was working for the rogue slayer Simone from season 8.

5)Buffy will lose her arm in a battle with zompires in issue 8.

FAITH AND ANGEL. How many books/years?

Angel iza Daddy. Again.

Alternate time line dealio, of course and it is something like Cereberus. That's the ticket.

Are we EVER going to have Connor and Dawn and Buffy in the same frame with more than "awkward" as the plot grandly stepped over and ignored?

It was confirmed a while back Connor and Buffy WILL meet this season. Buffy being pregnant has killed it for me.

Actually in the last Slayalive Q/A Scott Allie did,he un-comfirmed Connor meeting Buffy.

One of the complaints with Season 8 was that we were dragging in too many supporting characters—in Season 9 we're definitely only bringing in characters that are essential to the story being told."

Thanks! I suppose there are the TPB, if I can muster a bit more in the interest, after issue 8. I happen to think a woman being pregnant is a big deal and to avoid our feminist icon even considering abortion, we cut off her arm (Giles) to make her consider her identity now. I think it's the bot and has to do with the mystical whosit of Angel/Giles just as there were "no secrets" in the dream between Willow and Buffy, as she lay in legacy of Giles' knowledge. It's the old body/mind and spirit metaphysics AGAIN and it's the only thing Joss worries about. I GET IT.

It's the finale to these arcs that always disappoint in the "new direction" of random guy, deux ex machina from the crack fic of upper butt crack that is always a regression I don't enjoy anymore. This is Peter Pan all over again. The Doll House crises of "ID" is just boring. Although I like the idea of Angel as the crocodile.

I prefer comics to get out of their self absorbed, judgmental moral belly fuzzness, make Angel deal with the lady and the tiger, already, and this whole bunch to actually find a period. Menses or pee sticks, if necessary.

Giles restored, Scoobs all together and a future that actually includes fewer coffin nails in shadow Spike, sewed to Buffy's heels, (her real kids need a protective Nutcracker Uncle to provide the prince with rats and a princess; (ballet) and "Hook Buffy" giving up Tiger Lily and crew (Amazon women) to forget about being Peter, become Wendy, with Angel, a man capable of being a decent father in the real world. Xander, Connor and Faith and Dawn can be in the "other time line" if that is what it takes.

THanks for the info and your generosity to answer. I am just a sad junkie, addicted to all this stuff and I keep wondering what's MY problem? I actually have a life needing better care. ha!

I think HJ is a funny and insightful name for this verse!

Heard about Buffy being pregnant and not knowing who the father is, but she's losing an arm, too? Oy. UGH.So glad i never read this series.
