Subject: BTVS Rewatch Checkpoint

I love seeing the Council get what they deserve in this ep. It was about time someone kicked their butts, even though they did get some fatal butt kickage by season 6.

Anya was funny making up the false background, and the scene with the interview of Spike was funny. Although I'd expect the Council guys to just stake him and be done with it.

In the end, we find out that Glory was a god, not a demon.

It was amazing how the Council would hold "the information" hostage AGAIN! We all know the feeling of shut up, go away, and let me do my job."

Laughed at Tara and Willow speaking of THEIR relationship instead of the 'girl in question.'

It is really a huge episode of expostion; Buffy actually kills people, even in self defense, that is very new and even begins the question in the ideas of pre-emptive strike; we never really get why Ben is so susceptible to Glory of all the people who know her, carefully catelogued and determined to be her friends of "no powers."

Nor why the Knights "just stopped coming"--at least the Mohra demons had a reason in that Angel was back to being a vampire and Buffy was gone. I guess that Salt thing in the water doesn't hit Sunnydale's beaches.

Oh, and its funny to me re the magic shop having things that are seemingly harmless yet are dangerous, like the people running it or the people who are effete and think they are in the know and that solves the problem?

I LOVE Buffy's grasp of history. She actually KNOWS stuff and even stood up for herself, despite the teacher mirroring the Council.

I know it was a lot of talky, talky and more talky, but it was like one snap shot after another to piece together "the power" AND "the knowledge" or power of knowledge or something!

Spike really is a demoralizer--poor Buffy...STABBITY STAB! and the watcher interview on Spike. MAN THAT reminds me of a choreographer who chose this girl to be in the corps. She had a degree in Fine Arts and accomplished it by writing about "Swan Lake." Well, turns out she had NO IDEA how to even do a barre!
Be well!
