Subject: It was okay, but not as good as the original

which I caught again on the Sci-Fi, 'scuse me, SyFy Channel. The original took the time to build its story, and I liked the political subtext immensely. I thought the newer version soft-pedalled the political themes. The newer version also felt rushed, like they felt they had to roll out everything quickly.

I did LOVE Moreana and it was fun to see Alan Tudyk, esp. playing a bad guy. I liked a couple of the new twists.

I'll watch it, but I thouht the original was better. And Marc Singer is hot.

Oh, I totally crushed on Marc Singer when V was on! Those jeans still look good in the miniseries, heh heh. I really didn't like Scott Wolf on The Nine, so I hope I like him here. Nice eye sex with Morena, though.

And I still think of Robert Englund as nice alien Willie from V rather than as Freddy Krueger.

I think the original was more sophisticated than this was, but it will be interesting to see how they twist things - I think they've taken 2-3 characters and combined them into one this time around. I love that the inside of the ship looked like a small city, though. That was cool.

Oh, and I got the V miniseries novels when they came out, too...... *geeks*

in the original. However, they probably think the current target audience would be turned off by anything too serious. The success of the BSG remake proves that thought wrong but that's how suits think which is why we have 5 nights of Jay Leno getting ratings in the 1's.
