Subject: Can't keep up... LOL

Since we unmoderated the board I can't keep up with all the new posts.. LOL. I must be getting old/er. Hello to all the new folks, and WB to all our old and dear friends! Glad to see so much support for Leif. I will be sending him a card... just to let him know he's still in my thoughts and my heart. Hmm... one of those huge poster-size cards, sent around the way we did the birthday banner???? Bet that would blow him away. :)

Hi Tina Lyn, I'm one of the new kids on the block here. I guess you could say I'm a "born again" Leif fan having rediscovered him after 30 yrs. by watching him on World's Dumbest and lots of googling. He managed to find a soft spot in my heart and has been camped out there ever since! lol. I relate to some of the issues he's had and have been trying to reach out to him to offer my friendship and support. One of the ladies here told me that Barbara takes care of his website and says that he reads his e-fanmail. I'm curious to know if he ever responds. I can imagine he gets more than he could ever possibly keep up with but I wondered if he's ever answered you or anyone else here. I suppose it's wishful thinking but it sure would be cool to hear from him. Thanks for providing this forum for Leif's admirers to interact with one another.

> Hi Laura! One of my very first emails to Leif, I did get an auto reply that said Leif can not reply to all emails but he does read all of his mail..so I thought that was considerate, at least he does read them and hopefully knows how much sincere support he has. I think even if he doesn't respond, it's still good to let him know he's thought of, especially now.

[> We started the birthday banner in 1999. I can't even remember who created it... Nikki? It was over six feet long on continuous feed computer paper (find THAT anymore! LOL) We then put together a list - we had one person on the west coast, one on the east coast and me in the middle, who coordinated the mailing of the banner from person to person. I've forgotten how many people it touched -- maybe 30? but it went from coast to coast and two places in Canada. :) We presented it to him, late, in Tempe on 1/28/2000. He was totally blown away and told us he was going to hang it up in the "blue room" with his memorabilia. (See my Tempe story on our Sightings page on the LGF site.) It brought the fans together, he loved it, and I must mention that our dear Bonnie was the ONLY one to think of leaving her lipstick print on it!! :) -- TL, Thu, Mar 25 2010, 21:21:04 [1]
