Date Posted: 05:11:27 02/26/10 Fri According to Labour Councillors, they have received documents that show Westminster Council’s controversial £1 a day charge to park a tow-wheeler in their constituency is predicted to make a loss of “over £430,000”. According to the documents the Council’s projected income is £2,022,594, but expenditure is predicted to be £2,453,094. Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Leader of the Labour Group, said These figures show beyond doubt that not only are Westminster’s motorbike charges unpopular, controversial and divisive, but they are also a financial disaster for Westminster Council Tax payers. y should Westminster residents have to subsidise these massive loss-making motorbike parking charges which nobody wants and nobody voted for? The £430,000 could be much better spent on services for people in need.” [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
