Date Posted: 05:21:13 12/04/06 Mon We are always being told that biking is a risky business – but no-one told us eating at a biker bar needs to carry a health warning. Fears of an airborne disease were being checked after at least 600 people were taken ill after eating at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, a popular biker bar in Syracuse, New York. The most common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal cramps and chills lasting 12-48 hours. Those affected include both diners at the bar and people who came in contact with them later. Tests on customers have ruled out bacteria, meaning the likely cause is an airborne virus. No specific foods have been implicated. Restaurant owner John Stage said he plans to reopen "After 20 years in this community, I hope people give us another chance."
