Date Posted: 05:26:36 01/27/09 Tue Croft circuit has been ordered to pay £150,000 to a family claiming their lives are ‘gravely affected’ by noise. The Yorkshire circuit – home to one round of the British Superbike Championship – has also been ordered to restrict the holding of ‘noisy activities’ to just 40 days per year. Judge Mr Justice Simon also refused Croft the right to appeal with the House of Lords, although circuit officials are said to be looking into the options available. Croft now faces the prospect of action from other local residents, in addition to a huge legal bill estimated to be around £700,000. The ruling also opens the possibility that other circuits may now face similar action from local residents. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
