Subject: Aberystwyth upholds biker ban on promenade

 Aberystwyth promenade will be a no-go area for motorcycles, as the local council cracks down on parking.

Vehicles have been banned from the promenade for years, but a blind eye has been turned as motorcyclists boost tourist trade in the town.

But Aberystwyth Promenade Forum, which includes the town council, Ceredigion council and private and voluntary groups, said the situation had to alter.

A spokesman said "The policy of no parking of motor vehicles on Aberystwyth's promenade should be adhered to. At the same time, there is a a feeling that a compromise solution would be best given that bikers bring much needed tourist trade to the town."
