Date Posted: 13:12:51 10/27/09 Tue When Shane Beames, 44, was arrested by police in Geelong, Australia, he claimed an ‘out of body experience’ caused by sleep-walking! “My body was on the bike but I wasn’t” he told the court about the arrest for riding the (unlicensed) bike. “I must have been sleep-walking”. Of course, the blood alcohol reading of four times the legal limit in Australia had nothing to do with it… Magistrate Ron Saines said “With that reading I can well understand your (Beames) astonishment! Your claim of sleepwalking is so implausible that I dismiss it." Beames was given a two-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, along with a A$1,300 fine and a four year disqualification.
