Date Posted: 05:18:01 02/10/11 Thu Research from the highly respected Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has suggested that wearing crash helmets – already known to reduce brain injuries – may also reduce the risk of cervical spine injury. The University’s study – covering 40,000 motorcycle collisions between 2002 and 2006 – showed that helmeted riders were 22 percent less likely to suffer cervical spine injury than those without helmets. The study is published online in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
