Date Posted: 05:11:24 09/27/11 Tue In reply to: MotobkeBob 's message, "MAG rideouts to save biking from EU anti-bike laws – 25th September" on 04:21:47 08/27/11 Sat An estimated 40,000 bikers took part in a series of “Go-Slow” rides across the UK to protest their opposition to new EU legislation that would restrict modification and maintenance of motorcycles. 106 individual rideouts were arranged, commencing simultaneously on Sunday25th September. The rideouts, organised by MAG, are protesting against items such as limiting modifications that can be made to bikes. Paul Turner, MAG Chairman said “It (the legislation) will kill local garages and ruin the custom trade, where people’s hobbies are building and converting motorcycles into the fantastic machines that you see.” A vote on the regulations due in November has been delayed until February.
