My apologies for the delay in replying - I hadn't realised until today that anyone had answered my posting. Was on the 36th Regt. website and came across a new, and clear, photo of my Dad - near the bottom of the page

He is standing next to an Officer in a group in front of a missile.

Dad was head and shoulders above everyone! My brother is taller at 6Ft 10 ins :-))

My Dad died of a "Dissected Aortic Aneurysm" - we have quite recently discovered a link to Marfan Syndrome.

I have traced our family to Aberdeenshire and the village of Strachan there is also apparently pronounced "Strawn" presumably Gaelic (?)

Many thanks for replying to my email - I was 12 when my Dad died and can remember a fair bit of the funeral. It made the local paper too as my Mum has a photo taken at the time.
