It may be all the same. Any copies of historical records that show the same dates for the children with the names spelled different
ELIJAH (GROOM) (GROOMS) (CROOM) and CATHERINE HERRING
ELIJAH was born in 1757, Virginia. He married CATHERINE HERRING August 04, 1777 in Duplin Co., NC., daughter of STEPHEN HERRING and SARAH BRIGHT. She was born in North Carolina.
